March 22nd, 2012 – The NFL really knows how to deal out punishments. They suspended head coach Sean Payton for the season, the New Orleans’s GM Mickey Loomis for eight games, former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams indefinitely, and handed them a $500,000 fine with a loss of two second round draft picks. And they haven’t even punished the players involved yet. Oh, and did I mention New Orleans is also hosting the Superbowl in the year their team is in ruins? Plus, I hear Jeremy Shockey is a snitch. Someone put a bounty on that guy. Read More

March 21st, 2012 – The Spurs retired Bruce Bowen’s jersey last week, and kudos to the San Antonio Spurs for recognizing that non-stars play equally important roles in winning championships. But Bruce Bowen is a jerk. What else would you call a “premier defender” that forced the NBA into creating a rule that stops you from stepping under jump shooters for their own safety? I appreciate the retirement gesture, but that jersey has some dirt on it. Read More

March 21st, 2012 – Personally, I like the Tim Tebow move to the New York Jets. Until last season, the boasting mouth of Rex Ryan has rarely thrown Mark Sanchez anything but coddling words of encouragement. And if he can’t handle the pressure from a few naysayers in the crowd, or this trade rattles Sanchez mentally, then he doesn’t deserve to be under center for one of the largest media markets in the country. Of course most, if not all, NFL experts disagree with me. Read More

March 21st, 2012 - Depending on which school of thought you adhere to, Stephon Marbury’s game can either be characterized as an enigma of talent, or a celebration of score first point guards. There are a lot of ‘formers’ attached to Marbury’s name. Former high school prodigy in New York, former selfish point guard who asked to be traded from a team that had Kevin Garnett, and former all star who was all about the numbers. But guess who just lead his underdog Beijing team to the CBA Finals? Winning fixes everything. Read More

March 20th, 2012 – Am I the only one that is against fighting in hockey? I mean, if it was part of the game, wouldn’t you get points for doing it? And I’m Canadian by the way. The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils definitely think it is though, and they squared off in a staged brawl right from the opening face off last week. The NHL apparently loved the staged brawl as well, because you know, pre-meditated assault is a great example for the youth of our society. Read More

March 20th, 2012 – Not only did the Golden State Warriors trade fan favourite Monta Ellis for a player who won’t be playing this season, but its’ owner decided to steal the thunder from Chris Mullin’s own jersey retirement. They promptly expressed their opinion in the hilarious video above. What could have come over them? Well, no one could explain it better than Grantland’s Bill Simmons. Read More
