—If you enjoy a roller coaster of emotion during your listening experience, Pretty Lights’ “You Get High” might be the catalyst to start your day.
I’ll let you decide if this track is hip-hop, funk and/or electronic, but Denver artist Derek Smith a.k.a. Pretty Lights, is blurring the genre lines quite nicely.
Sometimes it’s nice to appreciate a song by its technical aspects and construction, but “You Get High” makes a great argument for people who believe it’s all about the feeling the music gives you, rather than what you think it should conform to.
