Ford continues their tradition of technological advances by introducing…wait what? If you didn’t expect technological advances and Ford to ever be in the same sentence, you may be surprised about what they have in store.

Ford may have just turned Apple on its head by introducing a Smartphone application that does away with remembering passwords and takes advantage of Bluetooth technology. Utilizing the concept of their Keyfree technology-which allows you to open your car doors without manually entering the key into the lock-Ford has developed an app that users can download onto their computer and synchronize with their Bluetooth Smartphone, which then holds all your passwords for your frequented websites.

When the Smartphone is in proximity to your computer, Bluetooth automatically logs you in using the passwords that you have stored on your phone. In addition, as soon as you walk away, the fading signal also automatically logs you out, ensuring security for those times you are on the go or simply forget to close your accounts.

Not to be political, but I’ve always thought that Ford had these types of ideas at their fingertips, but bailed out on them (get it?) But now given a second chance, it’s great to see them changing their tune for the betterment, and convenience, of us the consumer.
