About Jesar Gabino

Jesar Gabino is the creative director, buyer & co-owner of Toronto menswear outpost Nomad. Outside of his main duties, Gabino is also a part-time designer, photographer & observer of anything related to fashion, art & music. Outside of his work, the novice surfing fanatic interests lies in basketball, table tennis, and all-things-black. Here are Jesar's top five tracks right now.

01
Far Nearer by Jamie XX

The steel drums on this track are mesmerizing. Jamie XX has the golden touch. His Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 is on constant repeat. I definitely feel better when I listen to this song. —Buy Music

02
Island Walking by Tame Impala

Big sound & psychedelic. I saw them live & they crush. The beach, waves & sunshine... the simple life. —Buy Music

03
Rooster In My Rari by Waka Flocka Flame

The dude is just flat out fun times. My girlfriend & her friends like to chant his name when the music gets boring at parties. I think Waka Flocka Flame would appreciate that. —Buy Music

04
Free Spirit by Araabmuzik

This dude is a beast. Watching him live is like "The Matrix: MPC edition". The song is creepy and surreal with all the signature bleeps & screeches of an Araabmuzik track. —Buy Music

05
Sing Swan Song by Can

As I put this list together the internet posted that Can has just released a Lost Tapes 3 CD compilation with re-mastered & unreleased material. "A Swan Is Born" is an unreleased track from that compilation... I'm not sure if it's the predecessor of "Sing Swan Song." Grandfathers of Krautrock & influence on numerous bands & a 'Ye song. —Buy Music
